Floorstander - TALIS TLS 1 As awarded by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. The TLS 1 is the smallest floor-standing speaker in the Talis range. Exquisitely slim and elegant, this speaker constitutes a no-compromise Hi-Fi or surround loudspeaker. Although it is less than 11 cm wide , 12 cm deep and 100 cm tall, it generates a truly sparkling sound image. Three newly developed bass / mid-range drivers with extremely long coils, rigid aluminium cones and powerful magnets produce an impressive foundation to the sound, and are capable of providing clean, precise bass even at high levels. Two of these superior drivers are wired as bass units, while the upper one is responsible for the full mid-range / bass part of the spectrum. A modern 20 mm woven dome super-tweeter makes a vital contribution to the natural and lively personality of this magical speaker, characterised by wide dynamic range and brilliant transient response. The aluminium cabinet is extremely hard and rigid, and comprehensive damping measures have removed all traces of carcase sound or metallic ring. At the same time the narrow baffle ensures virtually ideal radiation characteristics and impressive spatial qualities. The highly developed crossover unit employs extremely low-loss components and provides high efficiency and good transient handling. As an option the TLS 1 can also be supplied as an active speaker. The base plates are available in green glass, blue glass and aluminium.
